Diamond Soft 30K questions
What size softener do I need in the Wichita area?
A 30,000-grain softener suits most 2–4 person homes on Wichita city water (~8–9 gpg). Butler County and rural wells run much harder (15+ gpg), so those may size up — we confirm from your measured hardness and household size.
Will it help with iron staining on my well?
It reduces dissolved (clear-water) iron along with hardness. Heavier iron or visible staining may call for the combo or a dedicated iron approach — the test tells us which.
Does a softener reduce nitrate?
No. Softeners do not reduce nitrate; that takes reverse osmosis. If your well shows nitrate, we add an Aquonyx CrystalCore RO at the kitchen tap alongside the softener.
