Is the CrystalCore RO right for my home?
This is the system for nitrate. Water softeners and carbon filters do not reduce nitrate; reverse osmosis does, and on Kansas ag-country wells nitrate is a genuine concern worth addressing. The Aquonyx CrystalCore installs under the kitchen sink with its own faucet and also reduces TDS, lead, arsenic and taste. Does reverse osmosis remove nitrate?
Reverse osmosis reduces nitrate, which is why it's the recommended approach for nitrate in well water. The Kansas Geological Survey estimates a large share of the state's private wells exceed the nitrate limit, so it's a real concern in ag country. A water test confirms your level.
Do I need RO if I already have a softener?
Possibly. A softener reduces hardness and iron but not nitrate. If your well has nitrate — or you just want bottled-quality drinking water — the CrystalCore RO handles the kitchen tap while the softener handles the whole house.
Where does it install?
